Istanbul hosts the first BlueSCities Science Café

BlueSCities does not cease to gather momentum.  The latest event has been the first Science Café which took place on the 29th of February, 2016 at Istanbul University. Over 70 people gathered to share their ideas and insights on water issues in Istanbul.  Students, researchers, and professors of the scientific community were attracted to the concept of Science Café and were delighted with the positive outcome. The BlueSCities Science Café format meant that in an informal setting, a large number of people were able to come together and to openly speak about the most important environmental issue of our time, water in the Turkish megalopolis. Members of the Scientific community met with the public in a very comfortable atmosphere in the canteen of Istanbul University. People were encouraged to enjoy a coffee whilst participating in a very successful debate.

The next BlueSCities Science Cafés will be organised in Helsinki and Athens.

Let’s meet there and discuss water together over a cup of coffee!
